Ergon Emulsions: Cantilevered Platforms
Ergon Emulsions hired JBS to fabricate and install cantilevered platforms to achieve OSHA standards for their Nashville operation. The scope of work included tearing out existing handrails, then installing two new platforms which had been built at the JBS shop. The new structures help address operational issues, facilitate plant maintenance and achieve regulatory standards for the asphalt manufacturing facility.
The project required keeping up with a number of change orders while still fulfilling original time constraints and allowing zero loss of workflow to Ergon’s southeastern logistical system. An 80’ manlift and a 15-ton, carry-deck crane were used to install the platforms that were constructed by the JBS fabrication team.
Additionally, JBS electricians installed heat tracing as well as a batching controls system, which allows Ergon personnel to fulfil customer orders in a more timely, painless and accurate manner. We were able to establish a great working relationship with the Ergon staff, who were very pleased with the product and experience they received.
